Apparently there’s a right and a wrong way to gentrify a neighborhood. On one side, a Rolls Royce Phantom (I think) seen on my way to work this morning which stands out like a sore thumb on East Cordova. To the left, the new Pidgin which recently opened across the street from Vancouver’s notorious Pigeon Park.
Scout Magazine just published a statement from the proprietors who have been coming under fire from some residents of the TDES. I think Pidgin’s efforts for community involvement are notable. Please check out this article for yourself.
With all of this ‘stink’ around the opening of a new restaurant just one block from the likes of L’abattoire, the Irish Heather, Six Acres, the Cork & Fin etc… the list is long, one has to wonder what
a renovation or development of Pigeon Park it’s self will look like.

Fantastic short doc about some young artists & entrepreneurs breathing new life into Detroit City.
If you can manage through the intermittent scenes with Johnny Knoxville, there is an interesting
story which is typically overshadowed by D-town’s darker side. Thanks Matt for sharing!
